Background
The TactCat is a 9m high speed boarding boat developed specifically for the needs of the Kenyan Sea Fisheries. It is a Hydrofoil Supported Catamaran driven by a combined 600hp set of diesel engines with jet drives.
The project was developed in conjunction with Icarus Marine from a blank sheet. The plugs and moulds were CNC’ed by SKEG, hull vacuum infused with glass/carbon and epoxy and all systems integrated as a bespoke project. Foils were manufactured in-house as well as Suspension Seats. The vessel was taken through to commissioning and certification under CE.
The TactCat was commissioned and fitted to the davit system on the mothership by SKEG and we also trained the Kenyan Sea Fisheries crew to operate the boat.
